Dr. Robert Lawrence Associational Missions Strategist

Dr. Robert C. Lawrence has devoted more than 30 years to pastoral ministry, faithfully shepherding congregations in Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida. Since 2012, he has served as Pastor of Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales, Louisiana. Under his leadership, Ascension Baptist has expanded its global mission partnerships to the Republic of Georgia, Belarus, and Puerto Rico.

Dr. Lawrence’s calling is rooted in a deep love for God’s Word and a burden for families, the local church, and the next generation of pastors. He has trained leaders through preaching, conferences, and teaching. He has a deep love and burden for pastors. He also has a strong passion for discipleship, and evangelism, with a heart to see both believers and the lost transformed through the Gospel.

Before entering full-time ministry, Dr. Lawrence served in the United States Air Force for 13½ years and later worked in the technology sector as a director of systems integration and software development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University, a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary and has pursued further studies in Christian Apologetics at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Lawrence and his wife, Wanda, have been married for 49 years. Together they have raised three children and are the proud grandparents of nine. His life verse is Galatians 2:20, and his ministry continues to reflect his lifelong commitment: to preach Christ, make disciples, and shepherd God’s people with faithfulness and compassion.
